Railways

Irish rail

Rail travel in Ireland is available between the major cities. Dublin is the primary conduit for all rail travel in Ireland, with services from Dublin to Galway, Limerick, Cork, Waterford and Belfast and any major towns between. The Irish Rail website provides information about the different routes and a way to book tickets online.

DART

Irish Rail also operates the Dublin Area Rapid Transport (DART) services, which provide links to and from Dublin city centre along the east coast north and south of the city.

LUAS

Veoila transport operates a light rail tram service (LUAS) in Dublin city. This two-line tram operates frequent services from the city centre on an east-west and north-west-south-east axis. For more information, visit the Luas website.

Bus

Commuter and Express Services

Bus Éireann is largest bus service in the country. It operates commuter services between the country’s cities and major towns.

AirCoach is an express coach services from Cork, Belfast, Greystones, Bray, South Dublin and Dublin City Centre to Dublin Airport. Most routes run a 24 hours’ service.

CityLInk – Offers express services (Galway to Dublin City and Dublin Airport, Galway to Limerick, Cork City & Cork Airport, Limerick to Dublin Airport) and commuter services (Galway to Athlone/ Dublin City & Dublin Airport, Galway to Clifden)

Intercity Bus Services

Dublin Bus operates Dublin city’s extensive bus services.

Bus Éireann also offers intercity services in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford.
