Legal Island’s Head of Learning & Development, was joined by EURAXESS Ireland and global immigration experts Fragomen. Our panel of expert discussed: - EURAXESS concerns regarding non-EU researchers who work for Irish universities but are based abroad. It may be people who have never arrived or people who were given permission to work in Ireland but who then are seconded elsewhere in the world during their employment ‘in’ Ireland. Would it be legal for the universities/companies to employ a non-EEA person who is not physically here without a permission such as a hosting agreement, or a work permit? - Concerns around employment of people who are leaving Ireland for a period (but continue on Irish payroll) to come back again were discussed.
